What's his favorite thing to do right now? Stick his tongue out. It's a bit odd, his tongue. It's a bit forked. I'll attempt to get a picture, but it has proven a difficult task.
And, I could be mistaken, and this was not done in a scientific measurement, but Finwe is 21 pounds on the home scale. He's huge. Absolutely huge. What a boy!
From my What to Expect the First Year book:
By the end of the sixth month your baby:
should be able to: (he does all of these)
- keep head level with body when pulled to sitting
- say ah-goo or similar vowel-consonant combinations
- bear some weight on legs when held upright
- sit without support
- stand holding on to someone or something
- feed self a cracker (Like I would give him a cracker!)
- object if you try to take a toy away (Does it count that he objects when you take me away?)
- work to get a toy out of reach
- pass a cube or other object from one hand to the other
- look for a dropped object
- rake a raisin and pick it up in fist (Who gives a small baby a raisin? Choking hazard!)
- turn in the direction of a voice (Has done this for quite a while now.)
- babble, combining vowels and consonants such as gagaga, bababa, mamama (No, Inwe, yes. Finwe, no. Larien, a little bit at this age.)
- pull up to standing position from sitting
- get into a sitting position from stomach
- pick up tiny object with any part of thumb and finger
- say mama or dada indiscriminately
