Finwe has been ready for solid food for about two weeks. I knew this because every time that I would eat he would lean forward and lick or smack his lips. He clearly wanted to be part of the eating ritual. Phill and I decided to let MomMom and PopPop be the ones to give him his first food; so we waited until we reached Florida to start letting him experience the world of food.
MomMom got the pleasure of giving him his first spoonfuls. He made faces and swirled the rice cereal around in his mouth. It didn't take long for him to open his mouth as the spoon made its way towards his face. (Yes, I have pictures, but my parents' server doesn't like Blogger so you'll just have to wait.) We are just giving him one meal a day. No need to go all crazy yet. This food is just practice. He's still getting all his nutrition from me.
And, sleep. That subject that plagues the mind of all mothers.
Magic is happening here in Florida. Twice I have placed Finwe on the bed so he could fall asleep on his own. Twice he has clutched his blanket and sliently fallen asleep. Magic.
